Hiking

In our Pyhrn-Priel region, enthusiastic hikers will find many marked hiking trails leading up to an altitude of 2500m. To each his own - leisurely promenades, gentle or challenging hiking trails or a fixed rope route. Enjoy genuine local culinary treats in the lovely authentic ambiance of one of the many Alpine huts.

The choice of hiking opportunities could hardly be more diverse. It spans from the "Roßleithner Sensenthemenweg" (~hiking trail concerning the subject of scythes) in our immediate vicinity up to the "Kalkalpenweg" (~Limestone Alps path) opened in May 2008 and connecting the Reichraming region of the Upper Austrian Enns Valley with the mountain chaine "Totes Gebirge" in Hinterstoder. In 11 sections on various topics you will discover the richness of nature in and around the "National Park Kalkalpen" (Learn more under: www.kalkalpenweg.at)

The funicular to the Wurzeralm in Spital am Pyhrn (11 km) is also operating in summer and brings you in just 7 minutes to an altitude of 1450 m. The hill station is the starting point for various hikes around the largest upland moor of the eastern Limestone Alps. The top station of the "Frauenkarbahn" lies on 1870 m - from there you can start for a safe high-Alpine hike with fascinating views.
The Hinterstoder-Hoess cable cars (14 km) carry you to Huttererboeden (altitude 1400 m) & Hoess (1800 m) - another high Alpine scenery with fabulous hiking opportunities.
