We are a hotel, a riding stable and an archeological site all in one. But above all, we are a family. We are Stefan and Barbara Großeiber. With our children and our team. After all, it is the people who make the Gut Enghagen what it is: a place to relax, unwind and come back. Your second home on vacation.

We cook, serve, take care of the animals, saddle the horses and take care of you – from your arrival to your return. With us you are not a booking, with us you are at home.

Our family business has grown, step by step, season after season. Because people fill this place of well-being with life. It is this togetherness that has shaped Gut Enghagen for three generations. From the original farm, it has become a place for relaxing holidays, impressive nature experiences, lasting family moments and romantic getaways – at any time of the year. And despite all the changes, we have always remained true to our roots.

Gut Enghagen is first mentioned in documents in 1492. The thick stone walls in the dining room and entrance area of the main house still bear witness to the early days. At the beginning of the 20th century, Barbara’s great-grandparents lived on the estate in a secluded location near the Pießling river. In the 1950s, their grandparents founded the Gasthaus Enghagen in the house of their great-grandparents.

Barbara is particularly passionate about the children’s program – whether it’s an action program on the farm or making palatschinke in the Enghagen kitchen. Sanja is „at home everywhere“ in hotel operations and supports wherever it is needed. She helps with room cleaning, good food, the beautiful garden, and works at the breakfast service. And she even lives with us at the farm for 9 months a year.
