For parents here, letting go of everyday life means: no organizing friends, no encouraging movement, no organizing and explaining, no negotiating about mobile phone usage. At our Bio-Archehof, invitations to „be a child“ are almost everywhere on the grounds. To observe, explore, participate, and go off with new friends.
This way you have the energy for personal or shared pleasures while horseback riding, hiking, cycling, climbing, swimming, or during action-packed adventures. Varied outdoor experiences for one, fun farm adventures for the others, and soothing wellness sessions for the third. In the evening, everyone enjoys the freshly cooked food together and talks about the day. All of this makes holidays for all generations enjoyable at our place.
Children grow up with opportunities to experience, explore and shape the world. That is exactly what Gut Enghagen is all about.
There is plenty to discover outside: on the trampoline, the slide tower, in the sandpit, on the swing or quickly on the go-kart track. The little ones can also stay active in the spacious play room with climbing wall.
There is room for everyone here. From the Lipizzaner horse Fanni to our mountain cows Fritzi and Rubi, to the cats Fritzi and Rubi. Observing and respectfully touching them is, by the way, very much appreciated!
Our garden outdoor pool is heated and is open from mid-May to September for fun splashing around. There is a separate children's area for the little ones and comfortable sun loungers for everyone. Anglers gather at the trout pond, and massages and gentle saunas are always welcome.
From Monday to Friday, we invite children aged 4 and up to participate in shared activities. One day it’s a campfire, the next day it’s fishing by the pond, the next day it’s collecting eggs and baking pancakes. And then we’ll all have a delicious snack of homemade plum jam. Barbara’s wealth of ideas for touching experiences on the farm is truly endless.

With Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle or friends: children have the entire region open to them, from the family adventure mountain at Wurbauer Kogel, the Kalkalpen National Park, the crystal-clear mountain lakes, all the way up to the peaks of the Dead Mountains. Hiking trails, bike tours, via ferrata, water routes, flight schools and the equestrian trail network offer relaxing rides as well as sporting challenges. Just ask Manfred – he knows what suits you best.

Monasteries and convents, museums and towns around the area bring old stories to life and tell the stories of historical hunters, the church chalice donor Tassilo, old carriages, researchers of wild animals and courageous mountaineers like Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, who conquered the „world of the 8,000ers“. Particularly worth seeing: the world’s largest monastery library in the Admont monastery. There is also plenty to explore for children!
Things are happening at our organic farm and riding school! For families with children aged 4 and up, we are organizing small and slightly larger adventures.
A flickering campfire under the starry sky inspires the imagination. In addition, we grill bread from a loaf.
You can happily snuggle in the fragrant hay and listen to the stories. After that, you can hop around in the hay and have fun!
Whether you want your dog, cat, princess or Spiderman – we will transform you into your favorite character.
Our snow-white mini pony carries the little ones on its back. Mom or Dad guide it with a leash.
At the trout pond, we all throw out the fishing line — even for dinner.
After dinner, we set off with the torches. In between, there are refreshments for young and old – sweet treats or a little something to drink.
Manfred, our active senior manager and hiking buddy, accompanies the joint trips „from Hof“.
We walk together through the courtyard, show you all the animals and tell you how everything fits together, about 40 minutes.
Would you like to help with egg collecting, feeding or cooking? Absolutely! Just ask Barbara.
Our farm dog Rosi, the bottle child, is happy to accompany you on a walk – almost like a dog.
Children who want to experience the daily life of the farm can bring the mountain check cows home from the mountain pasture with Stefan, or help with the stall cleaning, feeding the animals, and helping with the hay harvest and „egg picking“.

As an organic farm and equestrian center, we live in harmony with nature and maintain a respectful relationship with people and animals. Live these values with us at Gut Enghagen as well. Parents are responsible – even here.
For children aged 0–15, we offer rates in four levels. Family rooms with two separate sleeping areas for up to six people provide relaxation for everyone.
We provide a baby bed and a baby monitor. Please note: The baby monitor does not work equally well everywhere due to our thick stone walls. Please let us know in advance, and we will find a solution.
Children are welcome with their parents in the two gentle saunas, and they are also welcome to enjoy massages.
Our hotel, restaurant and outdoor areas are barrier-free. And some rooms are too. Even if you're traveling with a stroller: Just let us know!
Our tricycles, go-karts and pedal cars remain on the premises and are not available for excursions.
The 4-course menu always includes dishes that appeal to children.
Our estate is located in a secluded area in the high valley. Parents can relax and children can play almost without limits, because the nearest main road is far away.
The use of the pool and the play equipment inside and outside, assistance in the yard, pony riding for children under 6, the care of the riding horse and the special activities from Monday to Friday are free of charge and are considered an invitation – not an animation in any way.
At our place, children can get to know the farm and new friends according to their own wishes and mood. And at the same time, they can always spend time with their parents. We look forward to seeing you.
