Solar heated outdoor pool with authentic spring water
Whether you prefer your morning dive or a cooling dip in the evening: in our pool, you can swim from May to September in very pure and – if necessary – heated spring water! For our youngest guests, there is a separate children’s pool. After splashing around, feel free to relax and sunbath on one of our numerous sun loungers or with a towel on our well-kept lawn.
Horse riding
“When you are on a great horse, you have the best seat you will ever have”, said Winston Churchill once. This applies to our four-hoofed friends at Gut Enghagen as well! In our stable, we will find the proper companion for you whether you are a beginner wanting to learn to ride, an advanced wanting to explore the surroundings or take hikes or someone wanting to take pedagogical riding.
Hiking
There are hardly any hiking tracks more diverse than here: From leisurely promenading and challenging hiking trails to demanding via ferrata. In the Pyhrn-Priel region and the mountains of Hinterstoder, numerous marked hiking trails lead you up to an altitude of 2,500 m. Enjoy authentic alpine and regional specialities at a plentitude of managed refuges and alpine huts in and all around the Kalkalpen National Park in an unique atmosphere. We will gladly advise you on the hiking trails suited best for you and your ability or feel free to browse through our extensive hiking library! Besides, we’re happy to provide you with hiking poles, child carriers and binoculars free of charge.

Biking
Those wishing to explore the region on two wheels will find 60 km of comfortable cycling paths and about 110 km of mountain bike routes. High altitude tours with fantastic views pass cozy farmed alpine pastures and huts. A special kind of mountain bike challenge is what you find in the “Wurbauer Downhillstrecke” in Windischgarsten (7 km away from Gut Enghagen) with its challenging turns, jumps and drops.
Fishing
“Tight Lines” and “fish ahoy” at Gut Enghagen! Cast a line into our Grandma’s pond and catch your own dinner: If you want to, we will prepare your catch of the day as your fresh dinner! (upon request, June to September)
Golfing
Just a few kilometres away from Gut Enghagen, golfers can indulge in their passion at the 18-hole golf course in Windischgarsten. Perfect your golf swing here in a beautiful moor landscape and in front of a striking mountain panorama.
Fun, action and extreme sports
The Flying-Fox-Arena at the lake Gleinkersee (4 km away): An outdoor adventure in a class of its own. Glide safely and secured from tree to tree on 15 to 40-meter-long zip lines, assisted by a team of professionals.
Family adventure mountain Wurbauerkogel in Windischgarsten (5 km away) with two action highlights for you and your children: A winding summer toboggan slope, with a decline of more than 233 vertical meters in total, and the 760 m long all-weather Alpine Coaster with gyroscopes, steep curves, jumps, bridges and waves awaits you.
The Hexenkessel via ferrata in Rosenau at the Hengstpass (14 km away): This trek takes you across a stunning white-water canyon.
Paragliding and hang gliding: Experience dreamlike flight conditions with the Hinterstoder flight school and the flight school Wings.
Bungee jumping: Get your thrill at the dam in Klaus
